Hello, WVC Council. My name is XXX, and I am a resident of XXX.

I am here today because [briefly explain why affordable housing matters to you personally or to your community].

The Wasatch Assembly has brought you a clear set of demands developed by people in our community. We are asking our local governments to:

1. No homelessness sweeps.

2. Adopting WALC’s Expanding Housing Options Plan

3. Property Tax for Affordable Housing and Homelessness Services

I believe West Valley City has a responsibility to build an affordable future for our community. There has not been enough of a focus on affordability within the city council.

My top priority policies of WAs agenda are:

• Add Functional 0 count change to PIT

• Camping allowances for unhoused community members

• Office for landlord + tenant mediation

• Security Deposit Regulation

• Percent of local property tax to local tribes

• Villages (transitional housing) for homeless

• $1,000 monthly stipend to homeless individuals

• No junk fees for apartment complexes

• Ban Realpage

• Transparency and justification for rental increases
